Glenn Sullivan is Ready Scout’s Certified Lake Manager—the company’s President and Owner—and his career in aquatic ecosystem management dates to 1993, far exceeding the three years of professional management experience lake managers need to qualify for CLM status. He began in the aquatics industry with Allied Biological, which he later purchased and ran until 2015, expanding the business from NJ and PA to become the leading lake management provider in NY and leading several first-time projects in New York state. During that time, Glenn spent 20 years on the Board of the Northeast Aquatic Plant Management Society and continues to lead the New York State Aquatic Managers Association.

In 2015, Glenn sold Allied Biological to the team that eventually became Solitude Lake Management and stayed on as the NY Project Manager and Regulatory Affairs Specialist, securing permits and navigating regulatory compliance for lake interventions. After 8 years with Solitude, Glenn decided to start anew to better focus on individual attention and customer service for upstate NY lakes, and started Ready Scout, which now provides clients broader regional access to lake management consulting and compliance support, restoration planning, maintenance services, and practical training-informed guidance across NJ, Vermont, and Ontario.

Glenn is a Graduate of Rutgers University with a BS in Environmental Studies, a relevant degree path for Certified Lake Manager certification, alongside fields such as aquatic biology. Certified Lake Managers are certified by the North American Lake Management Society and listed in its public directory, and Glenn’s work is reflected in Ready Scout’s professional lake consulting and management. Brenden Bixby

Project Manager

With five years of industry experience, Brenden has developed expertise in permitting, aquatic plant surveys, and nuisance and invasive aquatic and terrestrial plant control. Brenden has conducted lake surveys, invasive species control, and HAB algae bloom treatment projects throughout New York, Vermont, New Jersey, and Ontario, and is licensed in each of those states and province, all within Ready Scout’s core service area. In addition to technical fieldwork, Brenden has played a key role in operations management and project management for numerous lake restoration and maintenance initiatives across New York, overseeing project timelines, resource allocation, and regulatory compliance to ensure successful outcomes for clients and communities. Brenden understands that strong, personal client relationships are essential to the success of lake management projects, and works closely with lake associations, stakeholders, and residents to build trust as a trusted partner, foster collaboration, and achieve clients’ goals.

Education programs and tailored outreach can help the community build self-sufficiency around ongoing lake issues while addressing unique needs, supported by professional lake consulting and community self-sufficiency services. Surveys and other analysis help assess readiness and support data-driven consensus building.

Brenden holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Management and an Associate’s Degree in Fisheries and Wildlife from SUNY Cobleskill. An avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman heart. Brenden lives in upstate NY with his fiancé.

Andrew Hess

Aquatic Biologist

With experience in lake and pond management, Andrew has developed hands-on skills in aquatic invasive species identification and control, aquatic plant surveys, and water quality monitoring and plant and algae management that assesses the health of lakes and ponds. Routine monitoring includes temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, and nutrient levels. He has conducted lake surveys, implemented herbicide treatment programs, and supported fisheries and habitat assessments across freshwater systems throughout New York, helping identify water quality issues and detect harmful algae blooms early, drawing on expert resources for lake and wetland management strategies. Regular monitoring also helps catch harmful algal blooms before they escalate. Aeration systems, including submersed aeration, can circulate and oxygenate water columns, reduce stratification, and support fish habitat in ponds.

In addition to aquatic systems, Andrew has experience managing terrestrial invasive species in wetlands, riparian areas, and upland environments. His background includes ecological restoration work such as native planting and habitat improvement to support long-term ecosystem health while protecting aquatic habitats and broader aquatic resources and water resources.

Andrew is licensed in New York and New Jersey and holds a bachelor’s degree in Fisheries and Aquaculture from the State University of New York at Cobleskill. He is committed to providing effective, environmentally responsible solutions while building strong relationships with clients.

Outside of work, Andrew enjoys hunting, fishing, snowboarding, and spending time outdoors.
